Youth Services Team Supervisor

Location: Concordia Office

Hours: 35 hours per week, including some evenings and weekends, with some additional residential hours during summer delivery. Occasional travel overseas and within the UK which will include overnight stays.

Contract: Full time, permanent

Pay scale – NJC 23-25

Responsible to: Head of Youth Programmes

Main purpose of the Job: To lead the delivery of the Youth Services Team at Concordia, including supervising the National Citizen Service (NCS) programme, International Programme, UK Programme and CYA. The post holder will work in close collaboration with colleagues and key partners to ensure that all the programmes are run within the strategic framework and to attend targets set out for each programme.

Background: Concordia was founded as a charity in 1943 with the aim of recruiting British volunteers to pick fruit and crops as part of the war effort. 70 years on, and we have grown considerably. Whilst we are still very much a non-profit organisation, we are now internationally recognised, providing workers and volunteers from over 50 nations with placements in the UK and abroad.

What will you do:

  • Provide strong leadership for the team
  • Be part of the management team and support the Head of Youth Programmes in developing and delivering on the organisations objectives
  • Lead on quality and overseeing systems relating to quality assurance and risk management
  • Work with the Head of Youth Programmes to ensure the long-term sustainability of the organisation and the implementation of the team and any external contracts.
  • Focus on developing the organisations culture, encouraging ideas and innovation
  • Promote service users and young person engagement
  • Supervise a team including the Youth Programme Delivery Officers, NCS seasonal staff and Interns
  • To maintain an up to date knowledge of health and safety regulations in particular those relating to volunteering, legislation and best practice
  • Implement and deliver the Concordia’s strategy, ensuring agreed aims and programme targets are being met, including the NCS programme, NCS Extension Phase and Concordia Youth Action.
  • Strive for continuous growth of youth engagement on the Concordia Youth Action programme.
