Local Charity Opportunities

Local charities, organisations and community partners in West Sussex, we need you!

Does your charity need support?

Would you like to engage more young people in your organisations?

During July and August each year hundreds of young people (aged 16 -17) join NCS. As part of this youth programme the young people need to complete a 30 hour social action project in their local community.

Examples of charities that NCS have supported in the West Sussex area are:

Turning Tide, Guildcare, Chestnut Tree House, RVS, St Barnabus and Sussex Air Ambulance, Mermaids, Care for Veterans, Concordia, Young Epilepsy, Safe in Sussex, Coastal West Sussex Mind, Acorn, Canterbury Community Play Scheme and MCS.

Here are some examples of what projects the young people on NCS have done in the West Sussex area in the past:

  • Raising awareness for the Cat Protection and collecting items for cats such as food, toys etc to make boxes to give to pets whose owners have had to leave them behind due fleeing violent relationships.
  • Working in partnership with Shoreham Port and Southern Rail to create art work for local train stations.
  • Creating a garden for the local Royal Voluntary Service day centre in Lancing.

Have you got a great social action project that you just haven’t been able to do? If so email [email protected]

Please note: The 4-week NCS programme is not running this Summer. However, we are running an alternative programme. For more information about this programme and NCS 2021 please email [email protected]
