NCS is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity open to all 16 & 17-year-olds that helps them build skills for work and life, whilst taking on new challenges and meeting new friends.

During the four week programme, we ask for Assistant Wave Leaders to help in the leading of NCS Staff, and facilitate activities to ensure a successful programme. This is an excellent opportunity to be involved with an exciting programme which has tangible results for the young people involved. The role is demanding and fast-paced but highly rewarding.

We’re currently looking for Assistant Wave Leaders to work with young people from the West Sussex area, during the end of June, until August 2020. You need to be confident leading groups of young people, have experience of working in a residential setting, and be able to support and inspire young people through their NCS journey.

An Assistant Wave Leader will need to support the teams of Team Leaders and Team Assistants whilst on the programme. They are responsible for ensuring that the staff are delivering the programme to a high standard, facilitate the leaders and programmes development, support on incidents, safeguarding and disclosures, as well as leading feedback/review sessions and delivering some creative sessions for the young people.
