Hosted by our Italian partner IBO Italia, this volunteer project focuses on the transformation of forest into a light wood pasture.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING ON THIS PROJECT?

CELA (Center of Legal and Environmental Education) a building owned by WWF, once lay abandoned after being misused & rejected by multiple agencies. Now, it is an educational center used to fight organised crime and protect local wildlife.

You will be completing small maintenance tasks in CELA as well as cleaning and managing activities in the recovery center for injured turtles. You will also help local guards to care for and release Caretta-caretta turtles back into the wild. This project will also involve cleaning beaches and helping care for local endangered plants.

Throughout the project, you will be taught by experienced WWF volunteers. The days will be split in to two - in the morning you will be volunteering and in the afternoon, you will take part in educational workshops and training.

WHERE WILL I BE STAYING?

You will be sleeping in beds in shared rooms with up to 7 other people. Each shared room has a toilet and two showers. You and the other volunteers will prepare the meals independently. There is also a washing machine.

WHAT ABOUT LEISURE TIME?

In your free time you are free to explore the local area and have trips to the beach.
