Hosted by our South Korean partner IWO (international Workcamp Organization), this volunteer project focuses on finding fun & innovative ways to teach children. 

WHAT WILL I BE DOING ON THIS PROJECT? 

You will be creating and running classes and workshops for children between the ages of 6-15 at the NAMUWA School in Yeongcheon, Gyeongsangbuk-do. NAMUWA School is an alternative educational institution that focuses on the teaching of practical life skills such as gardening, learning languages & creative thinking. 

Yourself and the other volunteers will organise the teaching program and run it for 3 months. Classes are 45 minutes long and have 20 -30 children. As well as planning and teaching, you will also be participating in classes in sewing and gardening. Alongside this, you will also take part in hikes and bike rides. 

WHERE WILL I BE STAYING?

You will be staying a shared room in the school dormitory with other volunteers. Meals will be prepared in the school cafeteria. 

WHAT ABOUT LEISURE TIME?

You will have weekends and bank holidays free. During this time, you are free to explore the local area and nearby cities. 

ARE THERE ANY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS? 

  • You must be 19+ to take part in this project
  • IWO asks that volunteers have an interest in teaching English and non-formal education. 
  • This project has an additional fee of 400000 WON which must be paid on arrival.
