Hosted by UVIKIUTA, this project focuses on encouraging sustainable development in Marangu, Tanzania. 

WHAT WILL I BE DOING ON THIS PROJECT?

This volunteer project works to help fulfill the United Nations development goals. The United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), otherwise known as the Global Goals, call for action to end poverty, fight climate change and ensuring that all people enjoy peace and prosperity. 

You will be helping to establish a community tree nursery by planting trees. Many of these trees will be native to Tanzania, helping to preserve biodiversity. 

You will also take part in various workshops which aim to educate volunteers & the local community about the important of sustainable development.

WHERE WILL I BE STAYING?

The village of Marangu is located at the foot of Kilimanjaro, Africa's tallest mountain. The Marangu route is the most popular hiking route in Africa.

You will be staying in a nearby house in shared rooms. 

WHAT ABOUT LEISURE TIME?

During your free time you will have the opportunity to go hiking in Kilimanjaro's forests. There are wild-life safaris you can take part at the Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara and Tarangire National Parks. 

Nearby waterfalls and Lake Chala provide the perfect place to relax and explore.

  • The project has an additional fee of 250 EUROS
