Hosted by our Portuguese partner Instituto Portugues do Desporto e Juventude, this project is focused on the promotion of organic, sustainable farming. 

                                                                                     

WHAT WILL I BE DOING ON THIS PROJECT? 

The main aim of this project is to raise awareness about the important of organic and fair trade food and fair trade, and to develop skills related to agriculture work. You'll also take part in workshops about fair trade and sustainable development. 

WHERE WILL I BE STAYING?

You will be sleeping in shared rooms in a large house called Casa da Juventude de Amarante. Casa da Juventude de Amarante is located in the centre of Amarante, just 10m walking distance from the bus station. It has its own kitchen, toilets and showers. Food will be provided in their youth centre. You will also have access to washing machines and WiFi. 

WHAT ABOUT LEISURE TIME? 

Amarante is a small town in the North of Portugal, part of the Porto district with 12,000 living in the centre. It is famous city for wine production and is near the Oporto wine region. Amarante is crossed by Temega River and is on the valley of one of the most important Portuguese mountains, MarEpoundo.
