Hosted by our German partner IBG (Internationale Begegnung in Gemeinschaftsdiensten), this volunteer project focuses on exploring and maintaining two hiking paths.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING ON THIS PROJECT?

Aach is a village close to the city of Trier. It is has been home to international volunteers since 2017. This project is also a part of the effort to build more sustainable cities and communities in line with the United Nations Sustainable Goals

The main focus of this volunteer project is to link two different hiking paths. You will be cutting vegetation, levelling ground & sign-posting. You may do other small tasks to help maintain local infrastructure such as repainting the handrails and maintaining parks. You will be supervised by experienced local volunteer craftsmen.

WHERE WILL I BE STAYING?

You will be sleeping in a community centre called the 'Family Barn' in shared rooms. There is also communal bathrooms and a kitchen.

WHAT ABOUT LEISURE TIME?

During your free time, you will have the opportunity to visit nearby Trier. There are several pubs and walking trails in Aach to explore. You will also take part in activities with the local community. Previously, our volunteers have taken part in a cooking competition & a training session with the local volunteer fire-brigade.
