Hosted by ESTYES, this agricultural project focuses on sustainable and ethical farming.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING ON THIS PROJECT?

Sagevere Goat Farm is situated a tiny village with a population of 18 in the middle of Estonia. The farm was created in 1841 and is now home to 68 adult goats as well as baby goats, chickens, rabbits and lambs. The farm's main products are goat milk and different types of bread. It's an organic farm with sustainability at its heart.
Supervised by the workers on the farm you will be assisting with everyday jobs such as milking goats, feeding chickens and rabbits, making cheese, curd, butter, yogurt and traditional bread, as well as taking care of pastures. Other possible tasks are cleaning barns, making firewood, painting and fixing the barns, working on the vegetable field, and helping at the farmer's market and shop.

WHERE WILL I BE STAYING?

You will stay on the second floor of the farm house. Although it is in not completely finished, it is warm and well-lit. The hosts will provide bed and bed linen. The house also has wifi.

WHAT ABOUT LEISURE TIME?

All volunteers will work 5-6 days a week, 5-7 hours a day. Volunteers can visit the near-by town of Vohma which is half an hour away by foot from the farm. Vohma town has few shops, cafe and an all-seasons skating ring. During your free time, you can visit large cities like Tartu, Tallinn, Parnu which are about 1.5 hours away by bus. The farm itself is surrounded by beautiful nature, so is an ideal place to take walks and explore nature.
