Co-ordinator Training Weekend 2019
13/04/2019 - 14/04/2019
Food: Concordia will provide lunch and refreshments for all participants on Saturday and Sunday. For dinner you will have to pay for your own food and, if you want to, we would propose to all go together for a pub meal in Brighton.
Accommodation: we can offer participants free accommodation for the night; this is very basic (mixed dorm room, no showers and sleeping on camp-beds; please bring your roll mat and sleeping bag). If you want to find different accommodation, please let us know and we can recommend a nice friendly hostel in Brighton with very reasonable prices.

There is NO FEE to join the training, we only need your commitment and motivation.
We're looking for motivated volunteers to help with leading international volunteer groups on our UK programme. All you need is two weeks to spare over the summer, some previous volunteering experience, motivation to work with people from around the world, lots of energy, a willingness to learn and get involved and to come to our weekend preparation training in Sussex. Easy!
Travel expenses: Participants who go on to co-ordinate a project for Concordia will have their travel expenses reimbursed at the end of the project, both those to reach the coordinator training and the actual project.
Travel expenses are paid within the UK only – we do not reimburse for flights to the UK.
EVEN IF YOU REGISTER ONLINE, PLEASE CONTACT CONCORDIA OFFICE FOR AN APPLICATION FORM AND MORE INFORMATION.

Concordia will be running a 2 day training course on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th April 2019 to train group coordinators for UK international projects.
The training weekend will run from 10am on the Saturday to 5pm on the Sunday. The training will cover skills from conflict management and intercultural learning to group cooking and team bonding!
Once you've completed the training you can go on to co-ordinate an international group on a community project in the UK. Projects range from environmental work to helping to prepare festival sites to working with children. We'll discuss the available options at the training weekend.
Why: These training weekends are a fun way of getting lots of practical advice on leading a project, as well as gaining useful information on group dynamics, cultural awareness, conflict resolution, budgeting, health and safety and cooking for large numbers! All co-ordinators receive a comprehensive ‘co-ordinator survival pack’ detailing the practical tips and advice covered during training and much more…
Most importantly though, the weekend provides an excellent opportunity to meet and chat with other experienced volunteers and co-ordinators in an informal setting.
Here is what a participant said about the training: The Co-ordinator training was informative, thorough and fun. At the end of the weekend I felt confident I could lead a project and deal with any problems that arose. (Coordinator training weekend participant).
