Last minute projects
Why last minute?
We would like to encourage volunteers who are able and willing to leave the country at short notice to apply for some of the last minute projects that we have available. It is really important for projects to have a full quota of volunteers, both in terms of the project aims and the group dynamic and it is a real shame for the host organisation – who have usually put a lot of work into running the project – if there are places in the project which are not filled (often as a result of last minute cancellations, visa denials etc).
To encourage volunteers to fill these spaces, we will be offering half-price project fees of £90 for any applications to projects on our last-minute list.
Registration fee for £90 on Last minute projects
The following conditions will apply to all applications that fall under this category:
- All applications require a project fee of £90 and will be subject to a non-refundable admin charge of £45.
- We MUST have received the application (with the project fee) before we reserve the place on the project. No exceptions will be made to this rule.
- Once confirmed on a project, it is not possible to change or cancel your place (without losing your entire project fee). So do make sure that all the practicalities are possible before applying.
- It is ONLY projects that are clearly marked as being within this category that are subject to this discount. These projects can be found on this section of our website, rather than on the main database.
- It is important that volunteers recognise that while we will get the information as quickly as we are able, we do need to communicate with our partner organisations abroad and this can cause some slight delays. Applicants must be prepared for this, be flexible and open-minded and be able to make arrangements at short-notice.
