The coast of Chiapas, Mexico, host to more than half of the endangered sea turtle species and one of this summer volunteer project.

Together with other international volunteers, you will set out to help the sea turtle sanctuaries collect the eggs and rebury them in protected areas in order to keep them safe. Once hatched, the sea turtles are recorded and set free. You will work in direct contact to the sea turtles, alongside the sanctuary, biologists, and other (local) volunteers. Bear in mind that the accommodation is very basic, and you will be working a few night-shifts, but once you see the sea turtles hatch and start their first tour towards the ocean, it will be all worth it.
